Under indirect and intermittent supervision, to do work requiring judgment and initiative in producing assigned articles for corporate publications and special booklets; to proofread material, to maintain cross index of material and photographs, to maintain file of newspaper ads, news items and editorial material appearing in public print relating to the Ameren Corporation, its subsidiaries and the industry; to maintain various mailing lists; to distribute proofs and various publications; to transcribe on a computer technical, official and other correspondence and material; to arrange appointments; and to do related clerical work as required.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
For care in use of computer, fax, copy machine or other office appliances.
For holding as confidential information obtained in connection with duties and relating to Ameren business or personnel.
CONTACTS:
Personal and telephone contacts with persons of all kinds, types and levels in connection with work handled.
Personal and telephone contacts with department heads, supervisors and employees in other departments for making appointments or exchange of information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or the equivalent, supplemented by an accredited course at the college level in writing copy for editorial and advertising media, or the equivalent in experience, plus ability to enter data into a computer.
Experience of one year as Clerk-Stenographer.
Demonstrated ability to handle detail involving confidential transactions and the execution of assignments.
Should be pleasant, courteous, tactful and skillful in handling contacts with media, customers and Ameren employees.
