Title: NUCLEAR CLERK 

Organizational Unit: Nuclear Applicable To: Callaway Plant Duties:

 

Under direct but not constant supervision, to do clerical and stenographic work of some difficulty requiring the exercise of limited judgment and responsibility and in accordance with standard practice and procedure of the Company; to do typing, filing, review and inspecting of documents, both microfilm and hard copy; and related work as required. In this connection to perform details of work, such as:

 

Type letters, reports and various forms; make copies of letters, reports, documents, and memorandums and make appropriate distribution; code, input, revise and proof data for computer applications; maintain files and retrieve information either manually or by use of a terminal; maintain specialized logs of documents to control distribution of drawings, documents, reports, letters, etc.; maintain special files, both microfilm and hard copy; review and inspect documents, including those on microfilm for clarity; perform quality control checks on microfilm, handle telephone inquiries and direct calls, perform routine servicing of office equipment;.. and other duties as related.

 

Special Responsibilities:

 

For care in the use of office equipment assigned.

 

For care in the handling of official records and documents.

 

For holding as confidential information obtained in connection with plant work and relating to Company's business or personnel.

 

Contacts:

 

Personal or telephone contacts with persons of all types and levels when receiving telephone calls and directing callers.

 

Personal and telephone contacts with employees in other departments.


Qualifications:

 

Graduation from high school or the equivalent, including or supplemented by a course in typing.

 

Experience of one year as a Junior Clerk Stenographer, or a total of six months experience as Junior Nuclear Clerk, or two years experience outside the Company in a stenographic capacity.

 

Ability to type with reasonable speed and accuracy; should be pleasant, courteous, and tactful.

 

Required to pass the Company standard typing test.
