TITLE: Motor Transportation Licensing and Title Clerk
ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT:Motor Transportation
APPLICABLE TO: Supply Service
DUTIES:
Under indirect and intermittent supervision, to do clericaland statistical work of a difficult and complex nature inaccordance with standard practices and procedures of the.Company and requiring the use of independent judgment to:
Collect, assemble and check data relating to the licensing and titling of company vehicles; correctlycompute fees due various city, state and federal.govern ment agencies; initiate proper forms along with correctdisbursements; maintain an active follow-up system andinitiate action as it becomes necessary in order to
meet deadlines and avoid penalties or lapses of licenses; answer correspondence pertaining to state and city licenses, receive and relay telephone inquiries; assist in training new and present employees and assigning. and checking work; act as leader for a small group; maintain all files and records pertaining to license and title work; and perform related work as required. In this connection to perform details of. work, such as:
all vehicles including tabulation Of. fees, monthlyrecords, distribution of license plates, maintaining current information on master cards and special follow-up.
Prepare Illinois license renewalsfor all vehiclesincluding Mileage Tax vehicles and renewing and filing of Motor Vehicle Mileage Tax Scheduled Bond.
Prepare license applications of Missouri, Illinois.and. Iowa passenger cars', trucks and trailers for additional licenses, transfers, upgrading and downgrading of licenses.
Prepare list of units to be inspected monthly and. follow-up file.
Prepare applications for duplicate,lost andcorrected titles, duplicate plates, forms forputting unit back into service and for drive away plates.
DUTIES:
Maintain Missouri state vehicle inspection recordsincluding control of inspection decals and check list books.
Prepare Missouri State Vehicle Inspection Station renewals.
Prepare Units to be Sold List, dray tickets, master cards, signing over of titles and recordspertaining to Units to be Sold. Includes checking of all information such as year, make and type, serial number, mileage, etc.
Prepare city license applications and transfers for cities in Missouri and Illinois.
Handle cash receipts and reimbursement of petty. cash.
Maintain IBM Report #5304, recording data according to Procedure for Updating Motor TransportationCheck List for Vehicle License Fees and Ad Valorum Tax Reporting.
Prepare cancellations of disbursement and working fund checks.
Handle Illinois Mileage Tax records, daily recordof mileage, monthly report, quarterly report sentto Secretary of State of Illinois and Fuel Consumed Report.
Prepare license applications and renewals for Outboard Motors and Boats.
Process affidavits such as non-use, affidavits,units to be put back into service, correctionon assignment of title, cancellation of saleaffidavits, residency affidavits, etc.
Takepool car reservations, answer phones andother clerical and stenographic duties, when required.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Current knowledge through contacts, publications and seminarsof laws, ordinances and regulations concerning city, state and federal licensing as well as state title regulations. Required to know laws on licensing and titling leased vehiclesand to know the terms of the lease agreements concerning the licensing and titling of the vehicles.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:.
Tabulation and typing of disbursement requests, responsibilityfor disbursement checks and keeping records including keeping check stubs.
Responsibility for the proper and accurate handling of monies: petty cash and working fund checks.
Responsibility for custody of serially numbered Missouri and Illinois titles, safety inspection decals, registration receipts and Illinois identification cards.
For care in use of typewriter, calculating and adding machines and other office equipment.
For holding as confidential all information obtained in connection with department work and relating to the Company's business or personnel.
For extreme care and accuracy in receiving, calculating, compiling and checking original data for use in applications., the more. important statistical reports and records.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Two years' experience in Motor Transportation Office.
Must be able to type, and operate adding machines and calculators.
Must be familiar with Motor Transportation organization tothe extent that sources of information are known; must be.familiar with records and procedures for assembling and tabulating data.
