TITLE: GENERATING PLANT PRINCIPAL CLERK ORGANIZATION UNIT: Power Plants - Office APPLICABLE TO: All Power Plants

 

DUTIES:

 

Under indirect and intermittent supervision, as assigned to the Payroll, Maintenance or operating offices in a power plant, to do typing and clerical work of a difficult and complex nature in accordance with standard practices and procedures of the Company and requiring the use of independent judgment and responsibility; to assist in training new and present employes and assign­ing and checking work; and to perform related work as required. In this connection to perform details of work, such as:

 

Tabulate, compute, prepare or organize data relating to power plant work and summarize for the more important reports, records or statements; check work for complete­ness and accuracy; index and file important or special records and correspondence, such as test data, blueprints, contracts, equipment nameplate data and statistical records; prepare and price job estimates; receive, relay and sometimes handle inquiries and complaints; prepare time records, working schedules and payrolls; issue requisitions and credentials; prepare prescribed forms for use, approval or execution.

 

Maintain supplies of Safety Suggestion forms, collect safety suggestions and distribute as required; maintain supplies in the First Aid Room; assist Foreman or Plant Personnel Supervisor in making periodic inspections of various First Aid equipment such as blankets, stretchers, etc.; change slogans, Safety Records, etc. on Safety signs; provide oc­casional assistance to Foremen in the preparation of materials, films, etc. for Safety meetings.

 

Occasionally administer First Aid, write accident reports,. reports of injury investigation, etc.

 

Occasionally may be required to drive a Company vehicle to take injured employe to doctor or home and make visits to injured or sick employes.

 

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

For care in use of adding and calculating machines and other office equipment.

For custody of petty cash fund ($50.00) in absence of Generating Plant Chief Clerk.

For holding as confidential information obt ained in connection with department work and relating to Company's business or personnel.

For keeping permanent and standing identification entry registers. CONTACTS:

Personal or telephone contacts with employes of the Accounting,- Valuation, Personnel and Treasury Departments for the exchange of information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent. Experience of two years in power plant clerical work.

Should be familiar with power plant organization and be able to handle power plant clerical and typing work with speed and accuracy.
